At every point along my journey I have been asking people who are taking part in ‘Performing the Future’ to:
Write on a card one important thing that you think has been lost and one thing that has been gained in the world in your lifetime
Write on a card what you think would be important to protect and to get rid of in the future
Already the responses are heartbreaking and heartening, different for different communities and individuals and localities although of course there are over riding themes that keep re-occurring. They tell an interesting narrative of our times.
I am not sure what I will be doing with these thoughts and ideas contributed so far but they will fit in somehow to the Future Machine concept and potentially any research that comes out of the project.
